Format: I require your manuscript to be a Microsoft Word document, either .doc or .docx. My editorial report will be presented to you as a .pdf file.

I would also appreciate if you could format your manuscript to industry standards. It’s not strictly necessary for a critique but helps make it easier to read. If you need help, you can find my guidelines here and here.

Payment: You’ll be invoiced for 50% of your total fee once we’ve settled on terms and signed a contract. This retaining deposit is due upon receipt and reserves your place in my schedule. If it is not paid, your place in my schedule may be filled by another project, and your time slot will need to be renegotiated. I will not begin work on your project until the retaining deposit has been paid. The remaining 50% is due within 14 days of receiving my report and second invoice.

Payments must be made through PayPal. I do not accept cash, checks, or money orders.

Additional work: Your total fee covers one project as well as 14 days of follow-up correspondence, meaning any questions or concerns you may have regarding my work after reading my report. If after you’ve revised the manuscript you would like me to conduct another critique, it will be treated and billed as a separate project.
